Out of many new features in Windows 7 one I like the most is the task bar. After using Mac OS it was my most awaited unavailable feature in Windows Vista and thank God it is in Windows 7. But I was disappointed when I pinned My Computer to the task bar and it opened Libraries instead of My Computer, in fact it is annoying that you have to click twice in order to get to My Computer. Here is a trick by which you can pin My computer directly to the task bar. You have to click just once to open My Computer.

Right click on Desktop, point to New and click on New Shortcut.

In the Path copy the following

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /E,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

Click Next and Name the shortcut, like I named it My Computer.

Now Click Finish, and yes, there is a new Icon on your Desktop which in fact opens My Computer.

Note that it has the same icon as Libraries, and you might want to change it.

Click here to download the original My Computer Icon (After downloading extract the icon file on the Desktop) or click here for more.

Right click on the new shortcut and click Properties, and then click Change Icon.

Then locate the icon file you just have downloaded and double click it. Click OK and OK again.

Now you have your icon ready, right click on this shortcut and click Pin to Taskbar, and thats it.

Now there are two Icons in your Taskbar. One opens My Computer and other opens Libraries.
