Step 1 - Download and install virtual machine .vmdk file of Google Chrome Operating System (Download Link OR Download Link (If you have gdgt account)
Step 2 - Download and install latest version of
VirtualBox, Download for appropriate OS you are using right now. (
Download Link) (If you dont want to use VirtualBox you can alternatively use
VMware, google it to get it)
Step 3 - Start virtualBox and click New (You might be asked to register at first startup, but it is safe if you cancel the registration)
Step 4 - Name your VM whatever you like, I named it "Chrome OS", then select the operating system "Linux" from the Operating System drop down menu, and "Other Linux" from Version dropdown menu.
Step 5 - Now allocate some RAM for your Chrome OS, I allocated 1024 MB RAM.
Step 6 - Now select "Use Existing Hard Disk" option
Now, click on the browse button, a new window will open click on Add and then select the .vmdk file you already have downloaded in step 1.
Click Select and then click on Next.
Step 7 - Now click Next to finish the wizard.
Step 8 - Now you can play around with other settings too, like graphics memory, audio settings etc, I adjusted the graphics memory to 128 MB from 12 MB
Step 9 - Click on green Start button to start the Chrome OS, and wait for few seconds to Chrome OS to start. Now all you need is a valid google login to use the OS.
